Hi Guys. This is my first post; I hope someone can help me diagnose my problem.
I have an '83 Chevy Silverado with a stock 305 and stock TH350 transmission. I bought the truck with an existing transmission problem...
The transmission takes a second or two to go into gear from Park and has a slight amount of pull in each gear (if I manually shift through the gears), but in med to high RPMs it slips; this happens in every gear. Reverse is very strong and does not slip at all. Also, I have to manually shift from 1st to 2nd to 3rd. Every once in a while it will shift through the gears on its own, but not very often at all. I've also noticed a VERY slight amount of vibration when at a stop while in gear.
I recently changed the fluid and filter and the fluid level is fine. It also has a new modulator and the vac line seems to be ok.
Could this be my torque converter?
