I just installed a Summit balancer but I am not sure I got it right.
Before installed I heated it in the oven. It slid on and then I seated it with a few light taps.
The back side of the dampner is 1/8" away from the timing chain cover.
Looking at the front, there is still some space between the front of the crank and the surface of the dampner. Should it be flush?
I attached a picture. Should it go back further? I dont know if it would bottom out before it hits the timing chain cover.
I attached a couple of pictures. Am I okay or soomething wrong?
The timing chain cover is from a 302.
