Hey everyone long time no post. I've been incredibly busy with so many new things goin on in my life. I'm back and need a little input.
So the build on my sister 68 mustang is finally underway. I have the front suspension, steering, engine and trans rebuilt. I'm currently working on the rear end now and that is were I need a little input...
It's a 8" rear end (plenty strong for the build) 28 spline axles with 2.79 gears. The only thing that really needs to be replaced are the spider gears inside the carrier. The axles are in great shape the gear set is surprisingly in great shape as well. I was going to install a basic posi rather then new spider gears. But I found they are no all that cheap for the 8" then I thought of the cheap small effective mini locrite locker... My only concern is how jerky will it be in such a lightweight Vehical???? I have one in my 70 el camino and I absolutly LOVE it but I have far more power with traction adding suspension and a wicked firm trans. Her mustang is a bit lighter in weight maybe 300hp with a nicely built c4 comfort built suspension... So my main question is just how jerky might it be???
I notice the locrite in my el camino only while driving it hard will it be the same in her mustang?
