As of late I've been reading a lot about hei dizzys.I bought a $60-$75 one at Goodguys Columbus,3-5 years ago.It was a nice looking piece,machined casting,red cap.It ran fine until this spring.It would not stay in time,it kept retarding.I removed the cap and could rotate the shaft almost 90 degrees past the advance alotment slots.Pulled dizzy,the spline was not deep enough,as a Delco unit and it would not hold the plate .I pinned it and welded it ,now good to go.I hope.Ever happen to anyone else?Don't worry about welding,the shaft and plate are dead soft material.
